Ernesto Cortazar, born into a family of composers began playing thepiano at age thirteen, when the tragic death of his Mother andComposer/Virtuoso Father, induced his Grandmother to teach him a love for theinstrument. By age eighteen Ernesto began not only composing musicalscores but won the award for Best Background Music for a Latin American Film atThe Cartagena Festival in 1958.
